In 2017, the Arkansas Equity Action Leaders Network launched a series of racial equity cafes statewide. The purpose of the Statewide Equity Cafes was to share data, discuss racial equity, examine the State’s Professional Development System, and receive information from parents, teachers, administrators, and others in the early childhood field on ways to improve teacher competencies and access to early childhood education for our most vulnerable children, African American males birth to age five. The Racial Equity Cafes were held in Rogers, Helena, Blytheville, Little Rock, and Texarkana.
